Well-meaning people all over the world, who are concerned about social issues and injustice and atrocities committed, are calling for change. This is a worthy call for everyone to do what is necessary and all they can to promote a more peaceful and fair society.
As can be seen, economic, political, and social freedom promised by the world system has not been able to offer any lasting solution to life issues. Hatred and bigotry and societal moral decline is a condition of the heart. Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart of man is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it”?…“For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.” (Matt 15:20)
God’s offer of salvation exposes the root cause of human problems; and that is, the problem of sin. Only through Jesus Christ can the condition of the human heart be changed; to remove sin and the traits of hatred and selfishness that sits embedded in people’s hearts. Lasting and complete freedom from the bondage of sin is through accepting the love of God, and Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, who died for the world. John 3:16 says that “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
No amount of good works or religious acts, and self-righteousness, qualifies you for salvation. The Bible says in Romans 3:10, “there is no one righteous, not even one.” Rebellion to God commandments will not make anyone see the Lord; for “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (verse 23)
Please understand what God has done to make salvation possible. He sent Jesus Christ. His death on the cross at Calvary fulfilled the complete sacrifice for our sins. He took upon Himself the judgment of eternal death that we deserve. He nailed it to the cross so that you and I can gain eternal life
What must you do to be saved?
Simply believe and accept God’s redemptive work of salvation. “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31). His grace offers you the gift of salvation and eternal life.”Let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” ( Rev 22:17). Confess and accept Him as Your Lord and Saviour. The Word of God says, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
The gift of salvation becomes yours only when you accept it. But a gift remains a gift until it is taken.
