There are two roads. The one is narrow; it leads to eternal life, and only a very few will find it. The other is open and wide, leading to eternal death. Sadly many people are walking on this road, even right now. God’s invitation to you is to “Enter through the narrow gate for wide is the gate and broad the way leading to destruction, and many are those entering through it. For small is the gate and narrow the way leading to life, and few are those finding it.” (Matthew 7:13-14).
There are two deaths. The one is the physical death; everyone at one point or the other will die someday. There is no escape from death, as this is the ultimate destiny of man. This came as a result of man’s disobedience to God’s commandment: “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Gen 2:17). No one will live on this earth forever. “… for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.” Genesis 3:19).
And then there is a matter of the second death; a spiritual death (Rev 20:6). This is eternal separation from God. There are many people although physically living, but are spiritually dead. Only by repentance and accepting the gift of salvation of Christ Jesus can a person be made spiritually alive to receive eternal life. When Jesus Christ comes in, the old self dies, and a new life in Him begins. (2 Cor 5:17).
There are two personalities. There is satan, the adversary and murderer, who came to steal, to steal your soul, to kill both physically and spiritually, and to destroy eternally. However, there is Jesus Christ the life-giver, who came to show you the way to God, THE FATHER, to give you life eternally, and to give it more abundantly (John 10:10).
There is light, and there is darkness. When the light of Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life shines, the darkness flees and cannot withstand it. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:4-5). Jesus Christ “has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Col 1:13-14).
The reason Jesus Christ came to this earth over two thousand years ago was to “open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.” (Acts 26:18).
There are two places. There is heaven for all born-again believers who believe in Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, and has accepted Him as Lord and Saviour. They will spend eternity with Jesus Christ. There is also hell where all those who refused to repent of their sin and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour will spend eternity.
The time is ticking away. If you were to die tonight, where will you spend eternity?
Please accept His invitation today. You can pray the following prayer to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
“Dear God, I know I am a sinner and could never make it to heaven by my good works. Right now I come to You in faith, and I place my faith in Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who came into this world and lived a sinless life. He died for my sin, was buried and on the third day rose from the dead to give me eternal life. I want to have a personal relationship with You. Please forgive me of all my sins. I hereby accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Come into my heart; be the Lord of my life, and help me to live for You all the days of my life. Thank You, O Lord for accepting me, and for the gift of eternal life.”
Jesus is Lord!
