“we are surrounded by so great cloud of witnesses” – Hebrews 12:1
King David is one of my favourite biblical characters, whom we read his story in the Book of Psalms as he revealed his struggles with sin, weariness, rejection and despair, his mistakes, his setbacks, his pains, his errors, his weaknesses and above all of these, his victories. He narrated his genuine repentance; how God corrected him, cautioned him, guided him, protected him, helped him, broke him, redeemed him, renewed him, restored and shepherd him by His covenant of mercy.
David’s unique story reveals how God chose and anointed him (Psalms 89:20); he became a man after God’s own heart – Acts 13:22). Even in his struggles, his communion and fellowship with God, the heart of worship, act of thanksgiving, sacrificial offerings and reverential fear of God never wane. What a great witness!
I hope this encourages you to continue to persevere without despair. Align yourself with God’s perfect will and plan for your life, being fully convinced that all your failings, errors, mistakes, struggles, setbacks or pains will end in a great victory for God’s glory. That will be your own timely “unique and perfect story” in Jesus Christ mighty name.
